Garrie Opener

The system is designed to operate a motorised garage door or similar devices (roller doors, gate etc) from your mobile phone.  It consists of two parts:

1. Wi-Fi device attached to the door press on the garage door
2. Application to ‘press’ the button from a remote device like a phone

Any phone with a browser will do, however, our Android app has many more features like voice control, proximity and multi-device support.

Features

• No need to carry your garage remote – use your phone
• Can open multiple doors with your mobile phone (multiple garages, home / office etc)
• Fits any device that has an accessible push button for access (double garage, single garage, louvres, gates etc) – the garage door does not even need to have remote access capability, it should still work
• Can open doors at multiple locations – as long as your phone connects to the Wi-Fi
• Can be controlled with your voice
• The proximity feature can open doors or gates automatically as you return home

Will it work on my garage door?

The Garrie device connects to your garage door motor push button terminals and is tiny (roughly 25x25x45mm), so you won’t even notice it. Power is via a standard USB socket.

Yes, it has worked with all the motorised garages we have tried so far.  However, there are many makes and models of garage, some of which are many decades old.

It should work if:

• The door opening motor has accessible power (normal power socket)
• The motor has terminals for a push button (usually labelled ‘PB’ or ‘Button’).  These are sometimes on the outside, sometimes within the cover. Normally, an existing wire will go from this terminal to a push button on your garage wall.

Ideally, you connect to your home Wi-Fi, but it will work standalone as a Wi-Fi hot-spot.

The range is normally better than a garage remote.  Our test show 20 to 30 meters is common, but it will depend on location, Wi-Fi strength and obstructions like walls.
